En route short stop at Nabalu Town for local handicrafts, fruits and a chance to peek at the majestic view of Mount Kinabalu. Kinabalu National Park covers an area of 754 square kilometers surrounding the Mount Kinabalu which at 4,095m, is the highest mountain in south-east Asia. Upon arrival to the park, proceed to the Exhibition Hall for an introduction. Free at leisure to walk around the surrounding gardens. After lunch at a local restaurant, transfer to Poring Hot Spring.
Poring is a Kadazandusun word for the bamboo species growing in the area. Situated 40km (25 miles) slightly north east of the Kinabalu Park HQ, Poring is in the lowlands, a complete contrast to the HQ. Upon arrival, proceed to the canopy plank walk through nature trails of the lowland forest. Observe wildlife and tropical rain forest from the canopy. After the canopy walk you may take a soak in the Japanese style tub filled with therapeutic spring waters. Return to Kota Kinabalu by late afternoon.
